House members of the Appropriations Committee approved HR 3, the resolution supporting multi-year pay raises for nearly 2,000 University of Connecticut employees, on a 24-19 vote on February 23.
However, in an extraordinary 6-6 vote, Senate members of the committee failed to approve their resolution.
If neither the full House nor Senate take action to reject the contract by March 9, the new labor contract will go into effect.
